Dear Diane

My son passed away suddenly and I’m very confused because my other son has already dreamed about him. My mother says that she feels him in the house. Why would he come through to other people and not to me? I don’t understand what I’ve done that keeps me from knowing that he is ok. Even his girlfriend said that she smelled his hair one night when she woke up. I’ve asked him to come through to me and yet he hasn’t shown himself to me at all. How can I get him to come through ? Why is he not connecting to me? I’m hurting so bad!

Jordan’s Mom

Dear Mom,

I’m so sorry for the pain and loss that you are experiencing, and I truly understand how frustrated you must feel. Losing a child is one of the most difficult experiences that anyone can have, and for that, I feel for you.

Not everyone experiences energy in the same way. As your family has expressed, sometimes the presence of a soul’s energy may come across to one person as a smell, while someone else may see something out of the corner of their eye. Other people may sense that someone is near, or perhaps they will hear a sound that has special

meaning. While none of us has complete control of how we perceive energy, I believe that if we pay attention to the subtle nuances around us, messages will come.

My guides have expressed to me that the more pain and trauma you are undergoing, the less able you are to notice subtle signs from spirit. Their exact words?

“Pain is a sledgehammer, while spirit is a feather. It is unlikely that you would notice a feather touching your arm while someone beat you in the head with a sledgehammer. “

Mom, I know that you will take a great deal of time to move through the process of healing. While the loss of a child will never go away, as time goes on, you will feel a bit less traumatized, and I have no doubt that you will experience your own way of knowing that Jordan still IS. Until then, please know that I wish you love, light and continued healing!—Diane
